Confidently advocate for yourself, your income, and the life you deserve,
even if you have no idea how to negotiate.
June 11 + June 18, 2022
It may seem like a stretch now, but we’re here to show you EXACTLY how it’s done.
Before working with Katy, Stefanie was sure that her employer wouldn’t be willing to raise her salary during a career conversation. She thought she was stuck with accepting their first offer.
But then, Katy weighed in after a lot of back and forth negotiations with the company,
and helped Stefanie shift her negative feelings around asking for more.
Stefanie successfully secured a $17k salary bump (more than their original offer)
and felt totally confident while doing it.
“My guilt and the likability trap kept telling me to cave in
and take what was being offered,
but Katy helped me stand my ground.
I’m so glad she was there to help me negotiate
my value and ask for what I was worth.”
- Stefanie L.
But here’s the elephant in the conference room…
Here’s the thing: it’s not that you’re bad at your job. In fact, you’re freaking great at it! But you’re afraid that if you push back and ask for more money (or anything else), you’ll be labeled as a problem employee and a TOTAL pain in the…well, you know.
Better to just put your head down, stay quiet, and wait for your work to speak for itself, right?
But what if we told you there was a way for you to advocate for yourself that left you feeling more empowered and respected by your boss, manager, or clients?
In our two-day negotiation workshop, we’ll walk you through the exact process you’ll need to have that difficult conversation you’ve been dreading, even if you’ve never been very successful with negotiating before.
Laura had fallen in love with her team and role at a company she adored,
but had no idea how to go about sharing that she was pregnant.
She was afraid that as a contractor, maternity leave was out of the question
and she didn’t want to put her organization at risk.
Malika helped Laura reframe her pregnancy from a liability to the team
into something more positive—that helped her clarify just how much she loved working there—
while also appealing to the CEO’s values of work-life balance.
“Since working with Malika, I feel like I can vocalize my needs moreboth to myself and others. I've made big decisions in my professional career, to create the kind of career and overall life that I want.”

Candy was able to bounce back, increase her rates as a freelancer,
and set the foundation for her to reach her money goals with complete confidence.

gave me the confidence and self-assurance

Mattea is a freelance writer for non-profit organizations and avoided raising her prices for the longest time. She felt guilty for quoting too high and assumed her clients didn’t have enough money in the budget to pay her what her work is worth.
Once Mattea broke down her writing process with Malika and discovered how much time and energy went into delivering her services, Mattea understood the true value of her work. Not only that, but she was able to double her prices and her current clients didn’t bat an eye.
You’ll join our two day, virtual workshop (hosted via Zoom!)
with Katy, Malika, and your newfound negotiation friends.
You’ll learn the exact tools, tactics, and trade secrets
to asking for more $$ with ease and grace.
Then, you’ll get a chance to practice what you learned on day one,
with Katy and Malika offering specific and actionable feedback in real-time.
You’ll enter a safe space and judgment-free zone as you witness
dozens of other negotiations, so you can strengthen your skills
and broaden your perspective in the process.
Malika will teach about value, worthiness, and taking risks as they relate to personal advocacy. From asking for help to asking for a raise - personal advocacy requires that you have a clear understanding of your own needs, and the willingness to communicate those needs to others. Often, the fear of rejection or being perceived a certain way keeps us from growing or pursuing the things we actually want in our careers and in our lives at large.
Katy will then get even more specific on the money piece, teaching you how to negotiate your salary in a way that strengthens who you are and what you bring to the table, which leads to co-creating with your boss, your future employer or clients, so that it feels like a win-win situation for everyone!
We’ll activate the skills you learned on Day One through practice negotiation scenarios amongst your cohort. You’ll get specific feedback and plenty of opportunities to fine tune your approach before you dive into that difficult conversation IRL.
As a freelancer, Annette knew the feast and famine cycle of creating
your own income all too well. But after working with Katy on her money mindset,
her success skyrocketed.
Annette was able to get to the root of her financial blocks and attitudes
while rewiring some early experiences and limiting beliefs she had about money.
She now has a tangible plan for paying off debt and saving for retirement,
while feeling a sense of peace about her financial situation.
“My work with Katy quickly yielded powerful results.
The exercises she provides are in-depth and thoughtful,
and she helped me focus on what was next for my career
and what I needed to do to get there.”
- Annette V.
You’ve probably heard the horrific statistic that women are paid a mere .83 cents to every dollar a man makes in the working world. And for women of color? That number is as low as .63 cents for every dollar.
As two women of color, we’ve made it our collective mission to be the change we want to see in the world. This looks like empowering women to own their worth and advocate on behalf of it, even if they’re not quite sure how to do it (yet!).
As women, we’re told to be the “‘good girl”—sit quietly, be agreeable, and accept the first offer that’s been given to us. We wouldn’t want to ruffle any feathers now, would we?
But that’s the exact behavior we want to normalize:
...The belief that it’s okay to talk about what you’re good at and share your accomplishments.
...The conviction that it’s not good enough to just wait until your work gets noticed.
...The expectation that when we decide to show up and stand firm in our power, we will be fairly compensated because of it.
We’re here to lead you to that path, even if it’s one you’ve never forged before.
Mei Chi grew up in a Chinese family, where she was taught to
never ask for more and be content with what you were given.
When she got a job previously, she never negotiated her salary
because she didn’t want to appear ungrateful.
After working with Katy, Mei Chi prepared
to ask for more when she applied for a new role.
She learned how to research the salary range in her industry,
and led a guilt-free counter offer conversation with boundless grace.
“Katy helped me realize that it is perfectly appropriate to ask for more money because of my expertise and experience. Without her help, I would have just taken the first offer on the table. From now on, I will value my worth and continue to negotiate using Katy’s techniques.”
-Mei Chi C.
Megan experienced a MASSIVE change in her job scope during the pandemic,
which included taking on more responsibility without the compensation to back it up.
Malika helped Megan through several rounds of negotiating,
even when the organization wasn’t willing to pay for her services, at least in the beginning.
Megan counter-negotiated their non-starter offer, by laying out the consequences
of what would happen to the organization if they didn’t fund her work at the caliber it required. She was also able to clearly communicate the value she brought to the company
and the impact of her work, which ultimately led to a 10% salary increase.
